The Leat Holiday Cottage in Rhodiad, Nr Whitesands
The Leat is one of our most attractive cottages and is situated in a beautiful rural setting. It has been tastefully converted from the barn at Rhodiad Mill and benefits from wonderful views across the the Dowrog Common Nature Reserve.
Perhaps the most notable feature of this property is the spacious ground floor en-suite bedroom with kingsize bed. It has a stunning outlook from the picture window towards Carn Llidi and a further window has seating and a view overlooking the stream. This room provides an area of privacy and quietness within the building much favoured by grandparents!
The property is entered by a good sized porch which is useful for hanging coats, storing golf clubs and ideal for dogs. Off the hall is a separate shower and wc and door to the living room. Access to the bunk bedroom and flexible twin/superking bedroom is vía the stairs. The melodious sound of the stream provides a relaxing background to these rooms. The spacious sitting/dining room with its exposed A-frame beams, wooden floor and feature stone walls has French doors opening to a paved terrace and steps to the lawn. There are two places for dining alfresco in this lovely setting.
The Leat is comfortably furnished with plenty of sofas and armchairs and an eight seater dining table ideal for enjoying meals prepared in the well-equipped kitchen with an adjoining utility room and larder.
The location is perfect for walkers as the area is criss-crossed with many footpaths. Nearby Whitesands Beach, officially voted one of the best beaches in the world, is famous for beginners and experienced surfers. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and nine hole golf course with its magnificent sea views are close. The tiny city of St Davids is less than one and a half miles from the cottage and has a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a beautiful Cathedral and The National Trust managed Bishop’s Palace.
The Leat is a really desirable cottage whatever the time of year offering character combined with modern conveniences.
